TUITION SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION »
Spring 2011 :: DUE August 30th* [ with the Early Decision Application ]
*NOTE: Your Salt application must also be completed by August 30th in order to be eligible for this tuition scholarship.
[ In other words, this competition is available to Early Decision applicants ONLY. This scholarship is applied directly to your tuition and cannot be combined with need-based financial aid from Salt. ]
The Overview »
For our biggest scholarship ever, we want to give you every opportunity to show us what you've got. We know you have it in you...that great story you just have to tell. You know what we teach here at Salt {storytelling in radio, writing, and photography}, but we believe that great stories can be told in so many ways. So here's your chance to submit that piece you haven't found a home for yet, the one that you did just for yourself in the wee hours of the night, with no parameters, none of the usual constraints. Anything goes.
[ Why not? What do you have to lose? ]
The Guidelines »
Truth is greater than fiction and that's all we want here. It must be real and it must be yours ONLY. [No collaborations accepted.] Other than that, we welcome all forms imagined and unimagined, in any format possible (including papyrus, rock signals, and smoke signals). Whether is video, multimedia, or something else high-tech or something simple yet well done, we're game. What we're looking for here is a compelling story with a distinct perspective. Whether it's linear or abstract, it should make us say, "Wow, what a GREAT story."
[ HINT: Just because you're a writer, doesn't mean you're confined to words on a page. ]
Submissions DUE » in our hands by August 30, 2010
[ We're not fussy about much, but we're serious about this. Make sure your carrier pigeon has a planner.]
The PRIZE? »
$5,000 tuition scholarship for the spring 2011 semester only.*
[ It's a lotta dough, make it good. ]
Who's ELIGIBLE? »
Anyone applying to Salt for the spring 2011 semester - radio, writing, and photography
[ A great story starts with a great storyteller and we want to see what you're made of. ]
